The Vocational School of Coding and Innovations, “Alexander G. Kodzhakafaliyata” Primary School, English Language School “Geo Milev”, “Nikola Obreshkov” High school of Mathematics, and Cyril and Methodius High School, are the first schools in Burgas which have been offering Korean language courses since 2018, as an initiative sponsored by the Embassy of Republic of Korea. Our inspiring Korean language teacher Kim Sumi has brought to us all the way from Korea the chance to touch the local spirit and atmosphere of this country and its people’s traditions.
We would like to invite you to spend with us a truly wonderful afternoon, devoted to the Korean festival Danoje (단오제). The festival is associated with traditions and customs from different regions, and is celebrated on May 5th according to the lunar calendar. According to “Historical chronicles of the three kingdoms”, that is the time when ancient rituals begin to pray for abundant crops right after transplanting of rice.
